Reporting
to the Vice President, Patient Care Services &
Operations, this position offers a unique and
challenging opportunity to develop and implement a
contemporary Critical Care service in a new, state
of the art hospital. Responsibilities include:

Provide
clinical and administrative leadership to
critical care nursing, respiratory care &
telemetry services, ensuring clinical
excellence in patient care delivery and
outcomes achievements.

Demonstrate
leadership skills consistent with the mission
and values of St. John Providence Park and
Ascension Health to educate, mentor, evaluate
performance, assess competency and administer
corrective action to departmental nursing
staff.

Facilitate
a safe environment for all customers and
associates by developing and communicating a
department safety plan and goals with ongoing
education and evaluation.

Assure
that departmental goals are integrated with
the strategic plan and operations are in
compliance with applicable regulatory and
accrediting agencies.

Develop,
submit and administer departmental budgets,
policies and procedures and assure appropriate
use of all department information systems.
THE
HOSPITAL:
Opening
in the Fall of 2008, the vision of the new 200 bed
St. John Providence Park Hospital is to create a
community cornerstone that delivers the latest
thinking in patient care and diagnostic treatment.
The department will consist of an 18 bed medical
and surgical intensive care unit, a 13 bed
specialty unit, a 23 bed short stay unit and also
includes oversight of respiratory services and
central telemetry.
The FTE count will be adjusted as the
hospital incrementally increases their capacity
upon opening, with an eventual compliment of 184
FTEs in these combined areas.
