Director of Inpatient Pharmacy

On behalf of our client, JPS Health Network, Fort Worth, Texas, we are seeking candidates for the position of Director of Inpatient Pharmacy.  This key position reports to the Vice President of Operations and has responsibility for planning and directing the overall operational activities of the Inpatient Pharmacy Services Department. Key objectives for this role include:

 

·         Develop personal and professional credibility, gain respect and build confidence throughout the organization. Set a tone of leadership that is decisive and forward thinking.

·         Act as a catalyst between hospital departments, physicians, and staff to ensure continuity, safety and quality of Pharmacy service, care and practices.

·         Ensure the organization is in compliance with all JCAHO and state regulations licenses, standards and regulations.

·         Assess the operational performance and management talent of the Inpatient Pharmacy department within 180 days of the start date. Identify challenges as well as opportunities.

·         Develop a strategic and tactical plan to meet financial performance targets for the balance of the fiscal year and going forward.

 

The Inpatient Pharmacy Department

The Inpatient Pharmacy Department is staffed by 74 FTE’s consisting of Staff Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, Technicians, Support Personnel and Management. The department utilizes the Siemens Pharmacy System and has 85 Pyxis devices located across the system.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must be a good communicator and exhibit a team oriented, consensus driven management style and demonstrated ability in leading. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of hospital pharmacy experience with a minimum 3 years of progressive administrative leadership experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy is required, Master’s degree preferred, and completion of a hospital residency program is desired. Current State of Texas Pharmacy license required.
