The
Wayne State University School of Medicine is the
nation's largest single-campus medical school in
the country, with over 700 faculty, 1,000 medical
students and more than 400 graduate students. The
clinical electrophysiology program is affiliated
with Harper University Hospital within the Detroit
Medical Center, and boasts two new
state-of-the-art dedicated EP labs. Numerous
device and ablative research protocols are
implemented in the EP program. The program has
also been designated a Center of Excellence and a
recognized training center for bi-ventricular
pacing. The school has an operating budget of more
than $530 million and is a “top 25” medical
school in terms of research funding, with an
annual research portfolio of over $134 million.

The successful candidate will lead the
Electrophysiology (EP) program in its clinical,
academic and research endeavors. The Wayne State
University EP program continues to grow rapidly.
Additionally, 2-3 junior faculty members
are needed to supply the growing demand for EP
studies and services from both academic and
community referral sources.
These faculty members will also be involved
in Grand Rounds, faculty meetings, didactic
teaching and supervising medical students,
residents and fellows.
It is required that candidates be Board Certified
in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, have an
academic background and demonstrate clinical
leadership. Candidates
must have an interest in clinical administration
and the ability to successfully participate in the
teaching and research.
